4.4 Android (KitKat) Is Already in 13.6% of Devices

Just out of the oven we have new statistics of the distribution of Android updates, with data updated daily of June 4 and which were collected from Android devices who accessed Google Play during the last seven days.

Another month we are practically the same evolution in the expansion of new versions of Android, being 4.4 Android (KitKat) version that gaining greater market share, all thanks to new high-end devices that carry serial this version and that the respective models of last year have also updated to KitKat.

4.4 Android (KitKat) It happened last month at the current 13.6% 8.5%, 5 points to grow in a month, beating Android 4.0 and 4.3 Android. In this way KitKat becomes this month on the fourth version of the most widely used behind Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean), Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) and Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), although on the verge of beating Gingerbread that currently has only 14.9%. If nothing happens Android 4.4 in a month already it would be at least the third most widely used version.

Android 4.2 and 4.3 Android, both Jelly Bean, also gain market share, with a 19.1% (formerly 18.8%) and 10.3% (previously 8.5%) respectively. Other versions still losing market share. Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) happens to have 29% (formerly 33.5%), Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) 12.3% (formerly 13.4%) and Android 2.2 (Froyo) which happens to be at 0.8% (in 1%). Another fact is that Android 3.2 (Honeycomb) disappears from the statistics to be already at less than 0.1% of the devices.
