The Chrome OS, the operating system Google announced in July, will be available for download from next week. Or at least that’s what the claim “reliable sources” blogger Michael Arrington, TechCrunch. Google had previously stated that a version preview could be expected until the end of autumn in the Northern Hemisphere, ie until the end of November.
At this early stage can be expected to exist very limited hardware compatibility as drivers would still not ready for any type of hardware on which it will attempt to run the system.
It is likely that Google indicates a short list of components where it is expected that the Chrome OS run without many problems. Some manufacturers with which Google has said it is working on this project include Acer, ASUS, HP, Lenovo, Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, and Toshiba.
